Michael Phelps and ADHD
As the Olympics ended last month and the Paralympics continue rolling, this week we bring you a champion profile with ADHD, Michael Phelps, to further reflect on how exercise and sport can help you focus on your strengths.
Phelps's diagnosis with ADHD was confirmed when he was in seventh grade, and teachers would tell him he would never be able to focus on anything. Never say never: little Phelps grew to be not only an Olympian but the most successful one of all time, with 23 gold medals! He never gave up despite not being able to sit in class. He used that energy for swimming.
He kept coming back to swimming despite any challenge, and he flourished.
✨ A Journey of Success ✨
Mr. Phelps holds the highest record for Olympic medals, with 28.
He established the Michael Phelps Foundation in 2008 to promote swimming and healthier lifestyles.

Michel Phelps inspires us all to pursue our passions, ignore limitations, and use the strengths in our neurodivergence to become champions. Just keep swimming. 🥇
